How the Ponant Military Discount Works

Ponant runs its own promotions throughout the year, but none are military-specific. We start with Ponant's lowest available fare for your stateroom, apply whatever promotion is in effect, and then take at least 5% off the cruise fare. Taxes, port fees and air are not part of that 5%.

On expedition voyages, where fares are higher, even 5% adds up. You will not see our savings on Ponant's website, so contact us with the voyage you are considering. Through our travel consortia, select sailings may also come with onboard credit or other amenities.

Who Qualifies

Active duty service members, military retirees and all veterans qualify, as do all military and veteran spouses, including surviving and divorced spouses. Family and friends traveling with an eligible guest get the same savings, even in their own staterooms. We confirm eligibility before booking.

About Ponant

Ponant is a French cruise line known for small, stylish ships and serious expedition itineraries. Its fleet includes the Explorer-class ships, each carrying about 184 guests with a balcony in every stateroom and an underwater lounge called the Blue Eye; larger sister ships such as Le Boréal and L'Austral; and the sailing yacht Le Ponant.

The flagship, Le Commandant Charcot, is a hybrid-electric polar exploration ship powered in part by liquefied natural gas. It is built to reach the Geographic North Pole and the remote Weddell Sea, voyages very few ships can make.

Onboard, the feel is French and refined, with menus developed in partnership with Ducasse Conseil, the consultancy of chef Alain Ducasse. Ponant is part of the same group as Paul Gauguin Cruises.

Where Ponant Sails

Ponant is best known for polar travel, with Antarctica voyages in the southern summer and Arctic sailings to Svalbard, Greenland and the North Pole in the northern summer. It also sails the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, Iceland, Australia's Kimberley coast, Tahiti and other regions where a small ship opens up smaller ports. Polar voyages book early, so it helps to start planning well ahead.
